A two-part original series, painted in contemporary-modern, monochromatic style, through my own artistic lens. I have taken this artwork over two canvases in a way to tell a story of loved ones parted by sea.

Wavy painted strokes are symbolic of water in Aboriginal culture and on canvas are accompanied by intricately placed white dots, as representation of the many footsteps I have taken throughout my journey.

I have chosen to feature the Aboriginal symbol for a special meeting place, this time on canvas in a uniquely non-traditional way. A focal point of this piece. The intricately painted dots are positioned in a way that when these two canvases are hung together form a concentric shape, a special meeting place.

In creating these pieces, I hope to take you on the journey through the connection I share with my younger brother. My brother lives in London and I wish to represent us through these two pieces. Two people parted by sea.

The concept behind my work and artistic expression for the two pieces to offer the choice to be displayed together or apart, whilst still holding their individual strength and connection to each other in doing so, is simply the uniqueness of these paintings. It is a true representation that no matter what, my brother and I will always have our special meeting place and be connected to each other even if we aren't always together.
